Bio

"William Root (born 1957) is a painter and printmaker with a keen interested in incorporating mixed media as well as photographic processes into his work. After graduating with a BFA in painting/printmaking from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1980 he began experimenting with a wide variety of techniques, processes and subjects. In addition he worked at the Cleveland Museum of Art from 1980-1990 in both the exhibition and conservation departments. He lived and worked in Belgium from 1990 -2018 both as an artist and art educator. he has lived in Sedona, Arizona since 2018 and is the owner of Root Art studio in Jerome.
